Blogging Through the Bible in 90 Days starts TOMORROW!!

One more day of rest and then the excitement begins!

Tomorrow, Monday July 5, nearly 350 (at last count) readers will join in together for the read of their lives as we read every single word of the Bible, cover to cover, in the next 90 days!

The mission of the program is to read, attentively, every word of the Bible in 90 days and together will do that and pray for each other as we do it.

As I’ve mentioned, I cannot recommend enough that you use the official Bible in 90 Days Bible and read 12 pages a day. If you are not using that, though, you can use another Bible and follow this reading schedule. (Click over and print it out and check off as you read.)

And, in case you are having trouble opening the link, your reading for tomorrow, Day One, is Genesis1:1 through Genesis 16:16.

Please, as you read, know that you WILL have questions. Try your best not to look up any answers or cross-references until you are finished with your reading for the day. Our goal here is to read every word. We are NOT studying the Bible this go ’round, just reading it attentively. Feel free to make a list of questions to pursue later. I will also be posting  resources as we read to help.

On Monday, please swing by MomsToolbox.com, read the weekly check-in post and check in by leaving a comment or linking a post from your own blog into the Linky. This week’s check-in comment or post should be a short introduction of yourself, possibly explaining why you will be reading with us. Yes, it is critical that you check in. That is how I will know that you are serious about joining us. Your check ins do not need to be elaborate. Just let me know you are there.

Then make plans to join us for our first Tweet-Up from 8-9 CST on Twitter, using the #B90Days hashtag. We’ll chat about the reading ahead and the program in general. For more Twitter information, please check out this post.

Consider signing up for a daily email from the Bible in 90 Days ministry. Their emails are uplifting, encouraging and give great info. I strongly suggest you subscribe.

That is it for now. I promise more details in the coming days. For now, just sign up, get your schedule ready, pray about the program and your heart, as well as those of your fellow readers, and get ready to read and be changed!

  3. Hello! I’m Bethany, mother to a four year old son, two year old daughter and 6 1/2 months pregnant with our third child! I am fortunate enough to have a supportive husband who agrees that my best place is at home caring for our children. I’m so excited to read the Bible in 90 days. I’ve only ever read bits and pieces before. I’m posting this comment on day three…got a little lost for a while! But working hard to keep up with my reading!

  4. I’m a little late to the game, but I am SO excited!! Just yesterday (as I was reading a great Rosenberg novel) I was feeling convicted because I have been a Christian for about 30 years and have never read the Bible cover-to-cover. I have time for Rosenberg, but not for God’s Word? Doesn’t make sense to me!
I’m SERIOUS about this. I just purchased the Bible in 90 Days (and I’m a cheapskate, so that IS serious! LOL!) and I’m starting out with my own Bible until that one comes.

  7. @Debbi… I think a thorough, in depth, slower reading of the Bible is wonderful and I am so glad you are able to enjoy God’s Word together with your kids.
@anyone else who may read this…Remember God’s Word never returns void, no matter how it is read. We all go through different seasons in our walk with Him… during some seasons we will benefit immensely from a slower, deeper study. And during other seasons we will benefit immensely from an overview of the entire Bible in a shorter time. So I pray everyone reading this will embrace the season He has you in, and keep walking in His Grace.

  8. I want to join you all. I hope I am able to read that much daily.

  10. I left this same post on someone elses blog and I copied my thoughts here.
While I totally encourage reading the bible daily, (psalms 1:2), I’m not sure if doing the whole bible in 90 days is beneficial. Along with reading the bible, we need to meditate on it and apply his thoughts to our lives. My kids and I have been reading the bible from the beginning of this year and we are now just starting 1 Kings during King Solomons rule and how even though he started out as a faithful worshipper of God, he fell away by not applying Gods council and he started worshipping false gods, thus God left him and his family. We read a few chapters throughout the week and then discuss them and do a bit of research if we don’t fully understand it. I always try to think of a way to compare it to our lives and how we should act. So, in my opinion, I would think that God would approve of quality over quantity. If you find yourself reading an entire chapter and not understanding it, then it really doesn’t mean anything, does it. And believe me, there are plenty of chapters that are tough to understand! I love bible based discussions so feel free to email me if you want! This wasn’t meant to offend at all, just help, I hope.
