Day 5 of the Bible in 90 Days

For all of you reading the Bible in 90 Days with us, how is it coming?

Today is our first Friday and the weekend is right around the corner. For many, the weekends are a great time to catch up on the reading, but for some, weekends present their own new challenges.

Think about how you are going to accomplish your reading this weekend and get ready to finish your first week of Bible in 90 Days reading strong.

We’ll have check in again Monday.

Check in will be for those in groups with mentors as well as those not yet in groups. You must check in each Monday by leaving a comment on the check in post here on MomsToolbox to continue as part of our program. You do not have to be up to date to check in, but you must leave a comment letting us know how you are doing so we will know how to encourage and pray for you. Those blogging about the experience may also link up a recent blog post about the experience on Monday. (The linky will only be open on Monday.)

For those of you not in groups yet, hold tight. If you registered using the official Bible in 90 Days sign in form, we will place you in accountability groups soon.

Okay, on to the reading:
Today’s Reading: Exodus 1:1- Exodus 15:18

  1. Last night weekend reading came up and my husband’s jaw dropped to the ground, “We have to read on the weekend too?” He wasn’t joking either! I am praying for a successful weekend. So far so good.

  2. So far so good! Loving the interaction between readers!
I’m finished for today and blogged some interesting thoughts about it at

I am really, really enjoying myself. I am thankful for the link you posted yesterday…the one with the 10 helpful ideas on how to read your Bible in 90 days. I was trying (sort of ) to read the Bible and another book at the same time. I am in agreement that this needs to be my only book for the next 90 days. I might even finish early. :) I am really enjoying God’s Word as a historical transcript. I LOVE to study the Bible and dig into the scriptures, researching and reading commentaries. But, this time, I am just enjoying the story!! I am staying caught up and even reading slightly ahead. God has been so faithful to met me where I am, with exactly what I need.

You mentioned accountability groups again…does that mean even thoses of us that registered late on Jan. 2 or early Jan. 3 will be getting into accountabiliy groups? I really hope so!!!!!!!! I need some extra help and would LOVE to have others to specifically pray for and remember.

    Praying for everyone here!!!

Amy – ALWAYS enjoy your posts. You provide so much inspiration & encouragement to so many of us. Listen, I wanted to share with you a new application that was shared with our family over the holidays. Thought you may want to check it out & share with your readers, as we have found Children’s Bible to be an awesome addition to our family. Children’s Bible is an app designed for children 3-13 & shares Bible stories through comics. It is available for most smart phones & computers. We have found this is a great way to get our children in the habit of reading the Bible, & it’s on their level. Just something we have found that works & wanted to pass along. Check out childrenbible.org & I think you will find it’s worth the time & the kids love it!

  6. I can’t believe we’re on Day 5 already and made it through Genesis. There were so many amazing lessons and stories in Genesis and I’m sad to see it go almost!
