Exploring the Wonders of God’s Creation

Over the years, many of you have asked for a Bible study you can do together with your children and I’ve struggled with coming up with one, aside from the monthly reads of books of the Bible which can be great for all ages.

But since it is summer, which often brings travel and reminiscing of travel, and since I do love traveling (and blogging about it on MomsTravelTales as time allows) I thought we could read the Bible together and share about the beautiful things we have seen that we just know could have only been created by God and shared with us.

So often in my travels I come across something and just smile, marveling at an exceptionally gorgeous sunset, mountain, meadow or a beautiful animal, and thank God for sharing that treat with me. And I hope you have that same experience.

So today let’s dive right in and read about creation in the Bible in Genesis. We’ll take it from there as the study progresses.

As you read today, don’t get too caught up in detail. We will revisit each day individually, so today just let the words of the whole story wash over you and take it all in without dissecting it. Just enjoy the gift of His words. And the gift of creation.

Reading assignment: Genesis 1:1- 2:3

Reflection assignment: Think about what you’ve just read as a whole. Ask God to share with you any messages He wants you specifically to hear. If you are up for it, use the SOAP devotional method to hear more clearly and journal your thoughts.
