Getting ready to be Cupid

Before I officially begin this post, I need to ask my neighbors to leave. Sorry guys.  I just don’t want to ruin it for you. Are you gone?

Okay, now that it’s just us, and you don’t live in my neighborhood, I have to share what’s brewing at the 144 house:

This morning on the way to school my kids and I talked about how much we love leaving treats for our neighbors and friends, much like boo-ing at Halloween.

We decided that we wanted to bake treats for a few neighbors and start the love flowing for Valentine’s Day. But we needed a poem. So I said I’d work on it and get back with them when I pick them up from school.

Here’s what I’ve come up with so far:

You’ve been tagged by Cupid!

Cupid has struck… and he’s left you a treat.

Now it’s your turn:  Share the love and something sweet.

Package up some yummy baked goods, homemade or bought.

Drop them off on a friend’s doorstep, but don’t get caught!

Don’t forget to leave Cupid’s mark to show Cupid’s been there

And watch the love grow as everyone shares!

PS Help Cupid strike quickly!

Leave a treat before two nights pass… He wants his love to spread quick as a flash!

So… what do you think? I can’t wait to start this.  Do I have to wait until February?

And, please, do it in your neighborhood, office or school if you like it. Ya can’t have too much love going around!

  7. How cute Amy! I was just telling my neighbor last night I wanted to start this tradition for Valentines day here. I remember an old neighbor every year that did this in our previous neighborhood every time I pull out the Valentines decorations and light the candle she left on our door step. What sweet memories.
