Giving Thanks– and being amazed by Him while reflecting over my speech

“Surely the righteous will give thanks to your name; The upright will dwell in Your presence”

Psalm 140:13

Father,

I am so truly thankful for You — and You making me righteous through Your sacrifice of Your son and Jesus going through with it selflessly.  He had the big picture, the end, eternity in mind and made it through the rough stuff for us.  Thank you.  I am truly, truly thankful for that and so many gifts I receive daily.  My heart is incredibly full right now — overflowing even and I love this.  Thank you!

I am upright because of YOU and I love dwelling in Your presence.  Thank you for meeting with me, listening to me, blessing me and guiding me.  Dwelling in Your presence is truly truly amazing.

Being amazed by Him

I have been frustrated with myself about my speech at SKS yesterday.  There were 4 slides missing. These were slides that I dropped in to be prompts for me.  Without the prompts, I lost a bit of my way and forgot to mention some things — and remembered and then mentioned some of them at places that weren’t in the original flow.

As I noticed I had left things out and was delivering them in my speech anyhow (at not the best spot) I was telling myself all would be fine — just deliver with enthusiasm. And so I did and I doubt many noticed the slip ups in organization.  I still had a great audience response.

This morning, as I was thinking about that, I was reminded of yesterday’s key verse during my devotional time.

“The mind of man plans his way but the Lord directs his steps” – Proverbs 16:9

I had a plan.  It got side tracked. But He gave me a gift for presentation and relating with people long ago.  He directed my steps long ago and yesterday, again, all still went well.  I prayed and asked Him to carry me before I went on stage. I asked others to do the same.  I told him my presentation was His, use it.

And He did!

He reminded me how AMAZING He is and that He will carry me. He has given me gifts.  I just gotta use ’em. And so I did. I presented, stayed cool through my mishaps and all still went well. He was RIGHT THERE WITH ME!! Wow. Thank you Father!!!

PS: Yes!! That image is from my hotel room in Seattle (The Edgewater Hotel, in case you were wondering.) I had a lovely gas fireplace to enjoy every morning and every evening. How cool is that?!
