Keep humble. Proverbs 26

If you are reading the Proverbs in 31 Days with us, our reading for today (Saturday) is Proverbs 26.

Scripture: Proverbs 26:12

Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

Observation:

If you revel in your own wisdom, then you are really in trouble!

Application:

I am learning a lot and have learned a lot, but I will always have more to learn. If I stop and ‘rest’ on the things I have learned, calling myself wise, I will only cut myself off from learning more.

Yes, I think it is okay to stop and be excited for the things I have learned and the things I have been empowered by God to do, but it is not okay to stop there or even claim credit.

God has shared some wisdom with me and has also given me some incredible opportunities. For all of those, I am thankful.

But I also know there is much more ahead, and for that, I am also thankful.

I will not stop, rest and call myself wise (because I am not!). I have a lot yet to learn.

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for opening my eyes to so many amazing things. Please guide me as I continue learning. Help me to put to the best use the things you share with me. Please, Lord, also keep me humble. Help my heart to stay right where you want it. Thank you for meeting with me and sharing with me.
