Memories to Share: June- Memories #21-27

memories-to-share-post

I’ve decided to make a few changes to Memories to Share here on MomsToolbox.

This is a project that is very near and dear to my heart. When my grandmother passed away last summer, reading her memories in a book I made her years before made me smile, thinking of her adventures as a teen, as a mother and as a grandmother– and it helped me to know her even better. My 11-year-old son really enjoyed the memories she shared, as well.

Memories to Share can help you to share your memories with others and also guide in asking others to share their memories with you. It can also serve as conversation starters at dinner with your family now, so you can explore your memories and perspectives together.

So here’s the change to Memories to Share:

Rather than posting the writing prompts weekly, I will post them on the first Sunday of each month, starting with today. You can print them all at once and fill them in at your leisure, or print them one by one, which ever works best for you. And, as always, you can also download the FREE memories to Share ebook, which contains more than 52 prompts for recording your memories, if you prefer that format, instead.

I hope this new change works for you and that you enjoy documenting your stories for others to enjoy– and perhaps for you to enjoy again, as well.

June’s Memories to Share

Our prompts for June bring back thoughts of graduations, summers past, vacations and our dads, as Father’s Day approaches.

This weekend I am enjoying a mother-daughter weekend with my eight-year-old daughter at the girls summer camp I enjoyed as a child. I have no doubt I’ll be re-living many of my own memories for summers in the sun, riding horses, swimming in the creek, shooting arrows, singing songs and, well, just being goofy with girl friends. These are the stories I want my daughter to know about me, and I hope to give her the chance to build for herself. I have no doubt lots of great memories will be made just in our weekend together.

What about you– What did your summers hold in childhood? What memories do you have to share? Here are some prompts to help you tell your stories…

Prompt #21 is:

Did you graduate from high school? What year? How many were in your graduating class? Are you in touch with any high school friends today?
