No judging. Romans 14:1-12

Today’s reading is Romans 14:1-12.

Here’s what I heard, using the SOAP format:

Scripture: Romans 14: 4

Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

Observation:

Don’t judge. It’s not up to you and the Lord knows a LOT more about things than you do.

Application:

I don’t like it when I am feeling judged by others. I don’t think anyone does.

I don’t think that I do judge others that often, but just once is too much, as I was reminded earlier this week.

I’m going to hold onto this verse and check myself. Typically when I think if people being judged, I worry about others judging me. And, of course, I don’t like that. But today I’m going to hold this close and check myself and make sure I’m trying very hard not to do to any other of God’s children what I fear they do to me.

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for loving each of us. And thank you for the reassurance in this verse that you are able to make all of us stand. I don’t think I am much of a judger, but you know me. You know every leaning of my heart. Please guide me and convict me when I slip so I can live better in the way you desire. Thank you for loving and accepting all of us in our missteps and mistakes. You are amazing. Help me to love more like you. Always.
