NPR’s Holiday Reading List

Since I now so often have little ears in the car with me, I don’t get to listen to NPR in the mornings or evenings as I did in my pre-mom days.

Tonight my husband came home and asked me to listen to a beautiful story that aired today on NPR about a family who sets aside all their holiday and winter books to be pulled out and read only after Thanksgiving.

I’ve tried to something similar with my family over the past few years and it was nice to hear another family’s tale of tales and traditions.

Give it a listen or read if you can… And check out the list of 50 holiday books to read with your family. They cover a multitude of winter holidays and traditions.

Enjoy!

  1. Love this – thanks for the link; I’ll try to listen today. I, too, loved listening to NPR but find it hard with the kids/chaos. Merry Christmas!

  2. Thanks so much for posting this! I really enjoyed reading through the list of titles!

At the beginning of December, I get out our Christmas books, and check out a stack from the library. I then wrap them all, and place them in our book basket. My daughter gets to open one book a night until Christmas, and we enjoy the story as a family.

It’s a great way to satisfy that desire to open presents, and we get to read some great stories. I was wanting some different titles, so this list will come in handy!

    Thanks again!!
