Psalm 39: My hope is in Him

bible-study-post

I’ve read through Psalm 39 several times this morning and I had a tough time pulling just one verse out to SOAP. I felt like, in doing that, I may get it out of context and I didn’t want to do that.

If you can click over and read all of Psalm 39.

I believe it is a reminder as to how fleeting our lives are. It is also telling of how tiny we each are in the scope of things. I was able to pull one verse, but, really, go read it all if you can so you can get the whole picture.

Here’s what I finally heard in Psalm 39 using SOAP:

Scripture: Psalm 39:7

But now, Lord, what do I look for?

My hope is in you.

Observation:

In all, you are the most important, Lord.

Application:

I must always keep the perspective that He is the most important thing.

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for staying with  me as I read and re-read this passage this morning.

Thank you for this reminder that, even though there are so many things swirling about in life, you are the most important and you are at the center of it all.

Thank you for guiding me. Help me to make good decisions based on your perspective, Lord, not mine.

My hope IS in you. I love you.

Amen.
