Psalm 48: He is my fortress

bible-study-post

Last night I slept in my own bed. Wooo-Hooo! (Except I think I like the pillows at the hotel where I slept the night before better than the ones at home. Hmmmm. I might need to look into getting new pillows!)

This morning was a bit hectic at home getting the kids on their way to school, so I’m a little late in journaling. But here I am, even if late, because I know my day will be better if I take the time to journal and think and pray. Thank you for joining me in this each day.

Here is what I heard in Psalm 48 using SOAP:

Scripture: Psalm 48:3

Within her citadels God

has made himself known as a fortress.

Observation:

God is strong and will protect and comfort me.

Application:

As exciting and wonderful as many elements of my life are right now, there is also a massive amount of stress. All the travel and opportunity doesn’t take away my responsibilities at home and all the travel means more meetings that require followup and more planning. The pressure is mounting.

This verse from Psalm 48 reminds me that He is and will be my strength. He is my fortress. He will protect me, if I seek Him and take refuge in Him.

Prayer:

Lord, I’m excited and thrilled and yet tired and weary. I need the strength and insight I only can get from you so that I can make the right decisions and not run myself ragged. Help me to be the mom and wife you designed me to be. Help me to be the CEO and founder you designed me to be. Help me to be the disciple you designed me to be. With you, I can do all the things you designed me to do. Without you, I’ll be a huge mess. Thank you for calling me to you each morning. Thank you for my husband who saw that I was a little overwhelmed this morning and took the kids to school so I could spend this time with you before things got carried away. Thank you for showing up for our time and reminding me that YOU are my FORTRESS. You are here for me. You will give me the protection I need as long as I reach out for it. I love you. Your provision is amazing. Thank you.

Amen.
