Psalm 8: Belt out those praises, y’all

bible-study-postGood morning and happy Tuesday to you. It’s a short school week, which I know my kids are diggin.’

Maybe they are even thanking God for that gift… I’m not really sure. I’ll ask them on our drive to school.

It’s the thanking of all those things, big and little, which I think are the right things to do.

Today Psalm 8 spoke to that.

Scripture: Psalm 8:9

Oh Lord, our Lord,

how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Observation:

Lord, you are rockin’ awesome amazing and you rule over all.

Application:

There is a song I remember singing in the 1980s whose primary chorus caused me to belt out Psalm 8:9. In reading it, I cannot help but to sing it inside my head. When I’m preparing for the MS 150 and cycling many miles on my nike, taking in farmland and gorgeous weather I cannot help but sing it then, too. (Yes, I really do, Once I thought I was alone for a bit and was belting it out as another cyclist came upon me. I was a little embarrassed at my singing. Oh well.

God has orchestrated some amazingly awesome things. We need to say thanks. We need to express appreciation. His name is definitely majestic. Tell Him thanks, Tell others about His gifts. Give thanks.

I found it on YouTube. Give it a listen… and then start singing it to Him, too. :)

Telling Him how appreciative we are opens those doors of communication with him. Talk to Him. Thank Him. Acknowledge Him.

Prayer:

Oh Lord, my Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Thank you for blessings, seemingly big and small. You are here with me always. orchestrating things in ways I do not even understand. Thank you, Lord, for that. Thank you for the sunshine, the rest, the lessons, my children, my husband, my family so many friends that feel like family, for your forgiveness in all my mistakes as I ask for it…. thank you for so so much. You really are absolutely amazing.

In your son’s name I pray,

Amen.
