Psalms SOAP: Good things come to those who seek the Lord

Day 13 of the Psalms in 60 Days

Today’s Reading: Psalms 33-34

Scripture: Psalms 34:8

Taste and see that the Lord is good;

blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.

Observation: The ones who seek out the Lord for protection and guidance will ultimately experience good things. You will see if this if you give it a try.

Application: Going to the Lord for guidance brings good things. Yesterday I read about how the Lord wants to mentor me and guide me. Today I am reminded that if I do seek Him I will experience his blessings. I think I experienced both of these verses yesterday.

I spent a good deal of time in prayer yesterday morning, much more time than I usually do. And I think my day went MUCH better as a result. More than one really icky thing parenting thing was thrown my way yesterday. Amazingly, I was able to stay calm through them. Coincidence? I don’t think so. I think God was gearing me up in the morning. I think He was setting me straight, preparing me for battle. AAnd when the battles came I prayed silently and handled them with grace.

I took refuge in Him. I sought his guidance. And I tasted and saw that the Lord is good!

Prayer: Lord, thank you so much for your love and grace. Thank you for offereing to help… and then following through. Thank you for offering such a beautiful reward for simply trusting in you and following you. Please stay close. I need you!
