Psalms SOAP: I do desire to do His will. But I also mess up.

Day 17 of the Psalms in 60 Days

Today’s Reading: Psalms 39-41

Scripture: Psalm 40:8

I desire to do your will, O my God;

your law is within my heart.”

Observation/ Application: I’m throwing these together today because I am adding something to the verse.

I do want to follow the Lord’s instruction and his law IS in my heart… but I also mess up. Sometimes my mess-ups are big, sometimes little… but I do mess up. And I messed up this weekend.

Fortunately I know this verse to be true. The Lord’s law and wishes are in my heart. And, fortunately, forgiveness is a big part of that. He knows what is in my heart and He knows my desire to do His will. And he forgives me when I mess up.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for your forgiveness and kindness. Thank you for putting your love and your law in my heart. Thank you for guiding me to seek you. And thank you, Lord, for accepting me and loving me even with my blemishes.

Please keep me on track, serving you and sharing your love. And help me to look past my own mistakes and not dwell on them.

Thank you, Lord, for your kindness.

Tomorrow’s Reading: Psalms 42-44
