Serve, despite fear of wordly stuff

Scripture: Ezra 3:3

Despite their fear of the peoples around them, they built the altar on its foundation and sacrificed burnt offerings on it to the Lord, both the morning and evening sacrifices.

Observation: These people had just returned from exile and were determined to rebuild the temple and serve the Lord. They chose to worship and follow God even though it might put them in danger.

Application: I admire these people. They worshipped and prayed and did as instructed, looking past worldly fear or obstructions.

Prayer: Lord, when I see a barrier in the way of serving you, please guide me in praying past it. Remind me of those who worshipped before me and stayed steadfast in their faith among many worldly fears and doubts.
