SOAP: Beauty all around us

Today’s reading is Psalms 19 and Acts 12. There was a lot of awesomeness in those passages. This is the one that tugged at me most today.

Scripture:

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

–Psalms 19:1

Observation:

Just look up in the sky to see some of His beauty.

Application:

Sometimes we need to just stop, look up and take in that crisp blue, or hazy pink, orange and purple, or even that powerful gray with deep clouds. His beauty is always around us for us to enjoy.

Don’t just stop and smell the roses. Don’t just keep calm and (whatever) on. Look up and take in the splendor of yet another of His gifts, and rest as needed.

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for the gift of your power and love for us. Thank you for beautiful skies that cover us daily. Help me, Lord, in those stressful moments to stop, look around and see how the heavens declare your glory and proclaim the work of your hands.  Help me to stop and do the same, even when things do feel sunny in my heart and in my head. Your glory is there always.

Thank you.
