Scripture: Psalm 1: 3
He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
Which yields its fruit in season
And whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers.
Observation: The one who puts his focus on the Lord will do good things at the right time and prosper.
Application: I am sure there is much more here, but today the phrase “Which yields its fruit in season” is leaping off the page to me.
This tree is not yielding fruit every single day, but in its season.
We are not to accomplish big things everyday… but at the right times. Seeing this and remembering what I wrote Monday is bringing to mind that I need to get my expectations of self in check… and have a time to prosper and a time to rejuvenate. The season doesn’t last all year long.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for this reminder that, with my eyes focused on you I will prosper. And I will bear fruit… all in the right times.
Thank you for that encouragement and reminder to not attempt to be driven by the world and try to be an overachiever, but to ask for your guidance in setting my priorities and recognize that I will bear fruit at the proper times as I submit to you.
Wow. Thank you for speaking to me Lord. Please guide me in applying this today and always.
PS: If you are joining me as a Praying Wife and praying daily for your husband, today we are praying for our husband’s integrity.
