SOAP: He delivers me from evil

Scripture: Psalm 34:4

I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

Observation: The Lord listens. Seeking Him for aid can calm your fears.

Application: I am supposed to be praying for my husband through my daily devotional time as I make my way through The Power of a Praying Wife. But I keep finding scripture that really speaks to me for me.

I don’t know that my husband has much fear.

I, on the other hand, let it control me way too much.

So this one is for me today.

When I am afraid, and perhaps before I even get to that point, I need to call out to God to deliver me from my fears and let me enjoy peace in Christ.

I know God reigns and, in the end, I will be with Him. So I have peace in that.

I need to focus on that and not the things between now and then. Yes, bad, earthly things can happen between now and then. But ultimately, I will be with the Creator of the universe who loves me tremendously.

When I am scared, I need to remind myself of that and also call on His help to give me the proper perspective.

He will deliver me from evil and from my fears. Things may not go as I would like for them to go, but He will be there. And that should bring comfort in whatever I may face.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for all you have done in helping me overcome my fears. Please keep me close and guide me in looking past them even more. Help me to kick Satan’s lies out of my head. I don’t want the enemy to have any foothold in my life. Please wash his lies away and fill me with your comforting love. Thank you so much for hearing me and guiding me.
