Scripture:
I have told you these things so that, in me, you may have peace.
In this world you WILL have trouble,
But take heart!
I have overcome the world.”
Observation:
He wants us to know what we need to stay strong in our faith, even in the hard times. He knows they are there. And He wants to prep us and strengthen us. He wants to give us peace in those hard times.
Application:
God understands that life on earth is hard, and that we will face hard times. I think what he wants us to know about that here is that HE has been here. He has experienced heartache and loss and frustration and all sorts of negativity. And he overcame all that for us. And He can offer us peace, if we want it.
He shares things with us so that we may have peace. Accept those ‘shares.’ Go to Him. Open those doors of communication and love. Listen to Him. He wants to help.
Prayer:
Father God, thank you for this reassurance that you KNOW things can be hard. And that you will still be there, guiding me. You have been there. You ARE here. Thank you. I love that you want me to find peace in you… and it’s open to all of us.
