SOAP: Living a life guided by him, not directed by sin

Scripture: Romans 6:15-16

15So since God’s grace has set us free from the law, does this mean we can go on sinning? Of course not! 16Don’t you realize that whatever you choose to obey becomes your master? You can choose sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God and receive his approval.

Observation/ Application: Although God’s grace may have set you free from the law, this does not mean you should continue a life of intentional sin. Instead, live a life honoring God by obeying his direction.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for your grace. Thank you for loving me, even in all of my sin. As a parent, I think I am beginning to appreciate your unconditional love even more. You love me, and show your love for me, through all of my mistakes, big and small. And you forgive me for all of them as I ask for forgiveness. Thank you, Lord.

Please continue to guide me in living a life that honors you. I want to please you and to live for you. I do not want sin to have any power over me. I only want you to have power over me.

Please keep me close. Keep me in your Word, in prayer and constantly growing closer so I can live the life you intend for me. For that is ultimately better than any other life I could ever live.
