SOAP: Please rescue me from the enemy

Scripture: Psalm 59:1

Rescue me from my enemies, O God.

Protect me from those who have come to destroy me.

Observation: David is calling out to God to protect him and keep him safe from his enemies.

Application: I am also calling out to my Father to keep me safe from Satan. I feel like the enemy is trying to sabotage my ride this weekend. I have proclaimed that my ride will be for the Lord, and powered by prayers sent up to the Lord. Satan must not like that. Now we are facing stormy weather and my body is tired. My allergies are really acting up.

But I will cry out to the Lord and I will tell Satan to get out of this situation. And I WILL ride successfully in God’s honor. God is bigger!

Prayer: Lord, please rescue me from the enemy. Protect me from one who comes to destroy. Shield me from harm and give me the strength and endurance I need to ride for you and give you the glory this weekend. Keep all the riders safe. And keep the bad weather away from us – or let it come and show your power in how safe we all ride. You know what’s best. Please, Lord, let me feel your presence and know you are gently pushing me along to LaGrange and them Austin this weekend. Thank you, Lord, for your faithfulness. I know you will be there.
