Scripture: Psalm 92:12-13
The righteous will flourish like a palm tree,
they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;
planted in the house of the Lord,
they will flourish in the courts of our God.
Observation: Those who are truly righteous (that is, those with true faith in Jesus Christ) will have a strong foundation and a secure future with the Lord. Rooted in Him, we will flourish.
Application: I want to be sure that my life, and the lives of my children, are rooted in the Lord and not in the lies of the world. By having a strong foundation in life, we will have proper direction, focus and a secure future.
No, our lives may not flourish in terms of worldly success, but in terms of God’s reward they will flourish.
Prayer: Please, Lord, guide my family in placing our trust in you and in building our lives on top of a foundation set by you, not our own selfish desires. You tell us that with you, we will flourish. Guide us, Lord in setting our path in a way that is pleasing to you and then keep us from straying. Let us hear your direction clearly so that we will not stumble and be confused. Thank you for your promise of a great future in you. Help us to keep our eyes fixed on that when we want to waver.
Thank you, Lord, for your faithfulness, love and promises.
