Scripture: Proverbs 13:3
He who guards his lips, guards his life
but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin.
Observation: Watch what you say, as there will be a consequence for what comes out of your mouth
Application: Words can be powerful. I need to really think about what is coming out of my mouth and what impact that can have—positively and negatively.
I can build up or bring down. And sometimes commiserating really just brings everyone down.
Prayer: Lord, please guide me and remind me to stop and think before I speak. Sometimes I get frustrated and let words fly before I think of their impact. Please guide me to use my lips and words as you intended. I don’t want to bring anyone down. I want to be an encourager. Please guide me—I need you.
