SOAP: What are his needs?

Scripture: Philippians 2:4

Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

Observation: Don’t be selfish and just concern yourself with your needs and interests: Consider others, too.

Application: The Power of a Praying Wife uses this verse in the chapter about affection, and shows how one wife approached her husband about a need and two involved the Holy Spirit and worked through it together.

I could apply it to my marriage by makings sure that I am not being selfish, but also considering my husband’s needs and acting on them.

And often it can be easy to let the household needs and children’s needs rise above my husband’s, so his get lost. (My husband is pretty independent, so often it is hard for me to determine what I can do for him)

Prayer: Lord, thank you for giving me such a willing partner in rearing our children and running our home. Please guide me in understanding his needs and acting on them unselfishly. Also, help me to remember to ask him what he would like from me so I don’t make incorrect assumptions.
