SOAP: What does HE want me to do with my time?

Scripture:

Psalm 90:12

Teach us to make the most of our time,

so that we may grow in wisdom

Psalm 90:17

And may the Lord or God show us his approval

and make our efforts successful.

Yes! Make our efforts successful

Observation: Guide me. Show me what to do. Help me to use time wisely so that I can learn more and gain the Lord’s approval and be successful.

Application: This seems like such a simple request. I (almost) always long to make better use of my time. But I don’t think this one is about efficiency. And I’m definitely an approval seeker-but not always from the right source. Actually, I probably seek out approval from others much more than I do from God. (Ouch. That’s convicting.)

So often I search for the “better” way to cook, clean, parent, even study the Bible. But to grow in wisdom is much deeper than that. What does God want me to focus on? What does he really want me to do with my time and efforts?

Prayer: Lord, please teach me. Continue enlightening me. Show me how to live in a way that is pleasing to you. And embolden me to follow that. Guide me in using my time well and not laboring over things to gain worldly approval, but work toward those things which would bring you honor.
