Good morning! I do hope you had a lovely Fourth of July weekend and holiday yesterday. :) I’m back with more SOAP for you. I love getting back into this rhythm and hope you are enjoying it, too.
I’m praying about when to share a new reading schedule with you so we can SOAP together. Anyone up for that?
In the interim, here’s what I heard in my reading today…
Scripture
"This took place so that was was spoken through the prophet might be fulfilled:" --Matthew 21:4
Observation
What he speaks will happen. (It may not look like what we are expecting, but it will happen.)
Application
Time and time again we see the fulfillment of his prophecy in the New Testament. What he said would take place took place. He speaks truth to us and so we should believe his word and follow his instruction.
Prayer
Father God, I know your aim is true. You have shown us time and time again that you speak truth– both in the Bible and to our hearts.
I want to follow truth. I do not want to pursue lies or a life that leads to nothing. I want to follow your instruction. I want to live as you instruct. I want to leave the world’s instruction behind… unless it points to you.
Please, Father, help me to decipher your truth from the lies of the world. Help me to hear you clearly, undeniably so that I may follow your guidance alone. I know you want what is best for me in the long run and I want to follow that. Please show me, guide me, take me off of the wrong paths and keep me only on the path you have set for me. My life is NOT a book of blank pages waiting to be written– it is a beautiful story already prepared by you with glorious adventures. Please, Father, help me to follow THAT adventure and contribute to it in ways you know are right. I love you. I trust you. I am yours.
