Today we begin reading the entire Bible– in just 90 Days!

b90_Q1_2014_horizontal

Today I started reading the entire Bible in 90 Days and I’m thrilled to have so many of you reading alongside me from your own homes, offices, hotel rooms, carpool lines, and many other locations.

I am thrilled that you decided to  join in and cannot wait to hear how this changes your life, your perspective and whatever else it changes. It’s going to be amazing!

A few things to keep in mind this week as we jump in..

Some stuff you read might make you mad. Some might make you sad. Some might make you want to smile so big your cheeks hurt. And some might make your questions get even bigger. Please, no matter what you think or feel or experience,  just hang in here with us and read, read, read until you have reached the end. Do NOT give in and give up. Just read. Don’t worry about understanding it all. Just read. Really. Just read. You’ll catch what you need to catch.

Schedule time to read. This gets harder so, to keep on track, select your reading times and record them as you would an appointment. Then keep it.

If you’ve read with me before, I’ve had check-in requirements and Twitter parties in the past. This session will not operate that way. I’ll post right here on MomsToolbox each Wednesday at a minimum, but some weeks you’ll find me posting more often. I’d appreciate it if you would leave a comment on each Wednesday’s post to let me know you’re in and how your reading is going. (Yep, starting with today’s post. This one. Let me know how you’re doing today.)

I’ll also be posting on the MomsToolbox Facebook page and on Twitter using the #B90Days hashtag. Feel free to post your thoughts in the comments, on Twitter and on the MomsToolbox Facebook page, as well. (If you ‘like’ MomsToolbox on Facebook and engage with the page, my updates will begin to show up in your stream to help you remember to read when you’re on Facebook. :)

I have finished days 1 and 2 and started day 3. This is my fourth time to do the Bible in 90 days and each time I struggle in Psalms and Proverbs and end up getting behind, so I have decided to read one or two Psalms each day in addition to the daily reading so I can break it up.
I read everywhere; nursing at the gym before workout class, while we are independently reading during homeschool, waiting to pick up kids from speech, after bedtime…

    1. I am so glad that you are going for it again and working out (and carrying out) a plan to succeed! :)

I didn’t see this post until this morning, but I started yesterday! This is my third time through and I cannot wait to see what God uncovers this time. SO glad you are hosting this! Sunshine

    1. I’m glad you are back for more with me. :)

  5. Wow! It feels great to read Genesis again! So many times I wanted to stop and find out answers to questions. I’m happy to have the “just read” rule to follow and let the Lord highlight what He wants me to get each day.

    1. Thanks, Amanda. I am so glad you are enjoying it. :)

    Hi Amy,
I am joining you on this Bible in 90 Days challenge. I found out about your site and this challenge in a google search. I have wanted to do this challenge for years but always started and was never able to finish. Joining you and the others in this community will give me encouragement and accountability to finishing reading to the end. I started today at 4:30 am. Early mornings work best for me since I am a teacher and have to be in my classroom very early. I finished the day 1 reading and some journaling. Looking forward to day 2.

    1. I am so glad you found us! Thanks for jumping in and well done on such a great (early!!) start! :)

I’m with you and I’m starting in a few minutes. We just got home from bible study, the girls are in bed, and I’ve got some time. I think tomorrow I’ll try to read after I walk the dog and before I wake up my daughters for school. Thanks so much for this! I’m expecting some big revalations over the next 90 days.

    1. Awesome! I’m so glad you joined us! :)

Good morning! I am joining you for your Reading the Bible in 90 Days challenge. I’ve tried this once before in 2012 reading the chronological version but didn’t finish it so I am joining this time to finish what I started and I have always wanted to read the entire bible. Is reading the KJV alright to read for this challenge? It is the only bible that I have.

    1. Reading the KJV makes the challenge more difficult, as some of those words can just be hard to understand at first glance. Is there any way you can get your hands on an NIV Bible to use for this?

And if you don’t have an NIV, you can downloan a bible app with the NIV version if you have a smartphone.
