Using my body as His instrument: Romans 6:1-14

Today’s reading in Romans is Romans 6:1-14. Here is what stood out to me:

 Scripture: Romans 6: 13

Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness.

Observation:

Make the choice to stay away from sin and instead point your efforts towards working for the Lord.

Application:

I need to be sure to use my skills and gifts for God’s glory.

Prayer:

Lord, you know how much I love using this site, and other gifts you have given me, for you. But you also know that a few things have jumped in the way lately. Please, Lord, show me exactly what you want me to do. Show me how to apportion my time and efforts. Show me how to serve you, my husband, my family and the others you put in my path, in an honorable way.

Thank you for calling on me. Please, Lord, show me to how to serve you the way YOU want me to serve you.

What about you? What stood out in your reading of Romans today?

Do you struggle in setting and carrying out your priorities? (I know I do.)

    Hi Amy

This is my first time using SOAP. It was life changing for me. Thank you for such a valuable tool.

I learned today that I need to stop acting like a “Christian” only when it serves my purpose. That I need to follow God every minute of my life. That I need to give myself completely to God. I need to give myself completely to God or He will deny me. I take for granted all the time what he has done for me. I’m oblivious to my sin and my need for Him in my life. I act like he is just an extra credit project instead of my substance for living this life. I told God how sorry I was. I’ve acted so terribly. I really am sorry.
