Wanna read the Bible in 90 Days? You don’t have to wait for me.

Earlier today, an eager Bible in 90 Days readers sent me this direct message on Twitter:

“I hope you don’t mind, but I’m starting w/o you. I just have this tug on my heart (for the past month) to start.”

I shared with her that I was excited for her to jump in and read, and mentioned that one of the Bible in 90 Days mentors was also jumping right back in. Then I put the two in touch.

She direct messaged back:

“thanks – I left a comment on her blog. just didn’t want you to think I was being disrespectful. can’t wait! =)”

And I responded:

“Not at all! Reading the Bible is what it is all about. :) I told her to look for you.”

My point in sharing this is that I want to encourage each and every single one of you who want to read the entire Bible to do so. And yes, I am quite biased toward the 90-days, cover to cover approach. It definitely worked for me and it has worked for many, many others worldwide, thanks to Ted Cooper sharing his program first in person and by photocopy and then eventually through Zondervan as well as his Bible in 90 Days ministry.

I love that Ted allowed me to offer the program online and that he continues to encourage me to do so.

And I love that others have picked up the ball and are reading and encouraging others to do the same.

Do I get a little nervous when I hear of someone new setting out to blog through the Bible in 90 days and encourage others to do the same? Yes! Sure I do… I’ve been through the program as a participant, as an in-person facilitator and now as a blogger several times. I know how much time and dedication it takes. And I don’t want to see a leader get frustrated and stop, leaving her group without an encourager and accountability partner.

But I also know that I am not the only person that can do this. And I want more and more and more people to read the entire Bible and share its story, its truth, with anyone around who will listen.

If you want to read the Bible in 90 Days, of course I would love for you to join us as our next group begins January 3. But if you feel God nudging you to start sooner, then go for it! And know that I will always be here to encourage you and pray for you and share resources and cheer you on, if you just let me know. (Please, please, please check out the Bible in 90 Days ministry site and my Bible in 90 Days tab for resources and tips if you do jump out on your own. I want you to FINISH and there are some great resources for you!)

Also, the #B90Days twitter stream belongs to all of us who love the Bible in 90 Days. Tweet away as you read and encourage others as they read. And together, we will get more and more and more and more people to read the whole Bible and share its truth. And isn’t that a finer thing?

It definitely Works for Me.

By the way, if you are reading or hosting another group, I would love to know about it. Watching this grow has been super-exciting for me and I’d love to keep track of how far it is reaching. Plus, I would love to pray for you. If you are hosting or reading with another group, please swing by and share a bit of info with me by following this link. Thanks!

  1. As a #fail at my first #B90days attempt, I’m ready to try again, as well. I need to download a new daily check sheet and dive in again. I am determined to complete this, but have dragged on so long I want to start at the beginning again. Thanks for all that you and the other mentors did to help us. I espcially enjoyed the tweet-ups when I was able to participate.

  2. Yes! I sent you an email, to let you know earlier, and I filled out the document :)

  3. I have a small group online, as well as in our church that started again on Monday! :) Looking forward to January!
