Blogging Through the Gospels: Mark 13

The reading for Wednesday is Mark 13.

When it is time to read, please start first by praying and thanking God for His many blessings. Be specific.

Record your thank you’s on paper or on the computer.

Next present your requests to Him. Ask Him for whatever you want and need. As you do, record your requests and questions on paper or on the computer.

Third, ask Him to guide you in your reading, so that you will hear his message for you today.

After you read, record your SOAP observations and then listen for five minutes. (Yes, I upped it by two minutes this time. I think you’re ready to listen a bit longer.) Set a timer and just  listen to what he might be sharing. Don’t ask. Don’t thank. Just listen. (You can pray more after you listen, if you like.)

Here is what I heard in the reading:

Scripture:  Mark 13:10

And the gospel must first be preached to all nations.

Observation:

Jesus is coming back.

First, though, His word must be shared all over the world.

Application:

It is up to his followers to preach the gospel to all nations. He is telling us to do that.

We can do this traditionally and electronically– but we MUST do it!

Prayer:

Lord, show me how to do a better job sharing your word and your truth worldwide.

Help me to pull together those who are already and teach the rest of us how to use what we have to share the gospel next door and far away from us.

I think you are calling me to share with others how to reach others for you online, or how to use social media to share your love and your story.

Please, Lord, equip me and show me the path as I embark on this journey.

Please show me that path and guide me in listening and following.

What about you? What did you see and hear in your reading of Mark 13?

And are you willing to help share the gospel worldwide?

Feel free to leave your thoughts, or a link to post with your thoughts, in the comments. If you do link a post, please include a link in your own post back to this post so your readers can see what others had to say, as well, and potentially join us.

  1. Mark 13:32-33

God alone knows how much time we have. We need to maintain awareness of that truth and always be watching and ready!

Live life with passion and purpose and without regret!

  2. Ahh . . . traditionally or electronically. Love that!

My husband was not called to be an overseas missionary, and with daughters – we know it’s not (biblically, at least) in their future to be sent out from under the protection of their father. Instead, we adopted sons, internationally. We were able to move for two months, demonstrate a life in Christ to those around us, and bring the foreign mission field home with us.

How wonderful that the Lord gives us so many creative options. Praise God!

    1. Woo-Hooo! That is awesome!!

  3. Am I watching? Am I preparing? Really? This really struck me today, I sure have a lot of work to do!
