Friday.
Wow.
How did it get here so fast this time?
As much as I feel behind in so many work things, I am really looking forward to the weekend and unstructured time with my family. Most of our plans for the week ahead are up in the air, and I am still pretty weary, but we will make it through. I’m hoping to let myself off the hook on some of those work things and really prioritize the rest.
Some fun things we are considering for the weekend and week ahead are:
Intersections exhibit at Rice Gallery (Looks awesome and is FREE!)
Zoo Lights (kinda bummed that most of the animals will be sleeping, though.)
Magical Winter Lights at Sam Houston Race Park
Dinner or lunch at Oceanaire (We like that they open the crab leg shells for the kids. Pricey, but delicious and super easy!)
Dinner or lunch at Goode Company Seafood (Awesome fried shrimp, campechena, gumbo and more)
I’m on the hunt for some good live music, too. We’ll see how it all pans out.
But, back to the reason we are here….
Here’s what grabbed me in Psalm 70 using SOAP today:
Scripture: Psalm 70:5
But I am poor and needy;
hasten to me, O God!
You are my help and my deliverer;
O Lord, do not delay!
Observation:
Lord, I sure need you! Please help me… and quickly!
Application:
Um, yeah. That verse kinda sums it up. I am weary and in need of refreshment and all that comes from Him. He will deliver me from evil. He will fight my battles. I need Him and He will deliver. As I said, I am weary. This verse is reminding me to cast my troubles on Him, as He IS my help and deliverer.
Prayer:
Father God, I am thankful that you are worthy and faithful and willing to show your love and guidance to those who ask. I need you. I need your guidance and strength to get my family out of the fog and forest. Kick away all the evil. Deliver us out of it. You have shown us your provision to get us where we are, out of the latest battle. We lean on you to keep showing us the way. We need you.
I am poor and needy; hasten to me, O God! You are my help and my deliverer; O Lord, do not delay! I do not want to be stuck in this cloud much longer. Help us out of it.
Thank you, Lord, for your provision. Bless us this weekend, this week and always with your joy and provision, please. Thank you for hearing my prayer and thank you for the many prayer warriors who have been praying with me and for me. Hearing that so many are praying so fervently for us has been humbling. Thank you. And thank you for hearing their prayers and answering them. You are amazing.
