Scripture: Proverbs 3:6
in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight. (NIV)

Go to God for guidance, respecting his authority, and he will give you all the guidance you need
Application: This passage does not come out of my regularly scheduled Bible in a year plan. I read the assigned passage for today, but nothing stuck out for me to write about or pray about.
This verse, however, has been on my mind for days, weeks… a long time.
And as I was driving home from the grocery store going through my to-do list in my head, and wondering what I would write about when I got home, it kept coming to mind.
This has been my prayer for so long. Yet sometimes I get a bit overwhelmed with all that needs to be done and I forget about it. Unfortunately, that’s when I need it the most.
So I’m going to pray about this again today. Only he can set my paths straight. In seeking him, I will be able to carve out all the garbage in my to-do list and prioritize it in a way that is pleasing to him. And those are the only things that really need to get done.
How is it I get caught up so easily in so many meaningless things that I think are meaningful? Only He can help me discern what is important.
Prayer: Lord, you are sovereign and I want to serve you alone. Please guide my paths. Straighten them. Keep me away from serving the enemy. Don’t let me get caught up in my overwhelmed-ness. Instead, guide me in setting my priorities and accomplishing those tasks that work toward the plan you have for me. Thank you for this reminder. Help me to slow down and acknowledge you when I think I need to speed up to get it all done. And, please, make my paths straight, and pointing toward you alone.
