A Psalm A Day: Day 6, Psalm 6: Deserving? No. It’s His unfailing LOVE that saves.

Good morning to you and welcome back. I do hope that your weekend is off to a good start.

Our reading today is Psalm 6.

I love the honesty and deep longing in this Psalm… and so many others.

David is deeply distraught. He feels like he is getting hit from every side. He knows he has made mistakes and he still cries out to the Lord, knowing he will be heard. It’s beautiful to me.

Here’s my SOAP for the day:

Scripture: Psalm 6:4

Turn, O Lord, and deliver me. Save me because of your unfailing love.

Observation:

You love me, deeply, always and unconditionally. I need your help. Bring it, PLEASE.

Application:

I am not worthy of ANYTHING from Him. I have gone against his rules many times. I don’t DESERVE his saving or His gifts. He saves me because of his UNFAILING LOVE.

I need to embrace that.

So much of what we experience on earth talks about what we DESERVE. But what do we really DESERVE… And who decides?

I need to follow David’s example and know that our Creator LOVES me and will save me because of that alone. Full stop.

Prayer:

Thank you, Father, for your unfailing love. Thank you, Father, for turning and delivering me time and time again all thanks to your unfailing love.

Thank you for your mercy.

Thank you for your kindness.

Thank you for your unfailing love.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen
