Any tips for NOT sampling the frosting.. and the candy and…

Last week I re-joined WeightWatchers.

And, even though I had a crazy traveling fiasco that left me in the airport MUCH longer than anticipated last weekend, and even though I attended my grandmother’s 100th year birthday celebration weekend with some delicious meals, I still had a fantastic first week with a great loss.

I am a loser and I am so proud of it!

Today, however, is cake baking day for my son’s birthday party.

It’s a combo affair with two other boys and we invited the whole 4th grade (which is just two classes, but it’s still a lot of kids!) and I am the cake baker lady.

This means that, in addition to the cake, I  am about to mix up a lot of butter, powdered sugar, milk and lemon to make my son’s favorite frosting… and mine, too. And then I’ll pull out the Skittles to decorate.

Lord, help me to keep my fingers out of that bowl!

I think I’m going to break out the gum. Or keep a tall glass of water nearby. Or set all of my Weight Watchers materials out. Or hang my tiniest dress on the pantry doorknob to haunt me.

Anyone else have tips to keep me in line and on target today?

Amy, I need these tips too!! I have been on a journey…I’m sharing about it on my blog with the book Made to Crave. I am down 20 pounds but have a ways to go still…it is SO HARD. ugh!! It is also such an up and down thing for me with motivation. I will add you to my list of people that I am praying for as we journey together on this healthy thing. :)

  2. Instead of eating, pray when you’re hungry or tempted (not necessarily about the temptation – just whatever is on your heart) and drink a glass of water. :)

  3. Way to go on your great loss!!!

Keep the gum handy and enjoy his birthday party!

  4. Eat a pickle. Gives your mouth that vinegary taste and you won’t want the sugary sweetness.
    0 calories also.

    1. Hmmmm. I never would have thought of that one! Thanks!
