Bible in 90 Days: Week 10 Check In

Bible in 90 Days Check in

Do you REALLY want to read the whole Bible with us?

About two months ago, more than 1,200 of you committed to read the entire Bible in 90 days with us. We put you in groups, mentors volunteered to help you and many of you are working hard and making your way through the Bible… two of you have already finished!

Unfortunately, many have fallen out of the challenge… but every single one had the ability to be finisher.

Everyone still does, as a matter of fact.

If you want to complete this challenge of reading the entire Bible, please do your best to do whatever it takes to finish with us by October 8. If you modify your own finishing goal by too much, chances are you won’t finish at all. (Sorry– but those are the facts. I’ve hosted this online and in person more than a few times, so I know how things usually shake down.)

Since you already made the commitment to do it this time back when you signed up, you will do your best if you go all out and do whatever it takes to finish this time, too.

Yes, I know that sounds harsh. And yes, I know how busy life can be. I also know that big things pop up that are really really big and unexpected. But I also know that if you want this bad enough you WILL finish and you WILL actually absorb much more than you think you will, even if you are flying through the reading. (You really will. This isn’t an ordinary book. This book has power. And as you read you can be guided by the strongest spirit in the the universe if you just ask Him to guide you.)

So… do you want to read the whole Bible or not?

Now’s your chance to buckle down, read it all and be amazed. Don’t let this be another time you thought about it and gave it a little bit of a try. Make this the time you finish. It’s your call and it is up to you to set your priorities.

What’s it gonna be?

Let us know right here in the comments on this post. Where are you in the reading? And is it really your goal to finish by Day 90? Just hoping won’t make it happen. Reading will.

After you leave a note here, please click to your group check in to share where you are and where you will be on October 8. Even if you haven’t checked in with your group at all this session you are welcome back if you intend to make it happen and finish with us. We want to support you and we want to help you– but you’ve got to do your part and let us know how you are doing and make the commitment to finish by October 8.

  1. What is really cool, Amy, is that I didn’t see this email last Sunday! I had just returned from our week long 20th anniversary trip. I had taken my Bible but read little of it. Plus, I was already behind on my reading even before we left.

So, being in Isaiah on the 11th, (wayyyyy behind), I knew it was time to dig my heals in and get back on track so I could finish what I committed to do.

Today, I just read this post of yours! The exciting part is that I also just read the book of Matthew!

Girlfriends! BE RELENTLESS! My Bible has been my constant companion this past week. I fell asleep with it..I woke up with it. My life is just as full as of all of yours. I can say at this moment that I am ready to start reading the book of Mark which puts me AHEAD!

I completed B90 last spring for the first time and it changed my life. It will change yours too! We are praying for you and how His Word will touch your heart. Press on and finish the race well! You will be forever grateful that you did!

I got almost a week behind and have been struggling to catch up, but today I finally made it to only two days behind. I might keep going later today (it’s 10.00 a.m. on Saturday in my time zone–I’m in Cyprus!), but even if not, I’m confident that now that I’m FINALLY going to get to the New Testament, it will be easier to keep up and catch up. I don’t quite understand why reading through “with a group” (most in my mentor group appear to have quit, and I’m not signed up with the FB group nor do I use Twitter) is helping keep me motivated, but whatever the reason, it’s “working” and I feel very blessed. Thank you!!

  5. I’m a tad behind…Starting Hosea today. Read 2 days worth yesterday to get to this point. I fully intend on finishing by the “due date”!

  6. I have been behind for a few weeks. I am halfway through Isaiah, so guess I am about 15 days behind. But, I haven’t quit. I keep reading and I have faith that I will find the time to finish in the 90 day time frame! It is like reading a novel….I want to see how it ends. :) I have read several entire books of the Bible through other studies, but never one book after another. It is amazing how it all flows together and as I read something I remember something from a previous book. I have found passages I had never known were in there. I am just in awe.

  7. I’m halfway through Jeremiah. I intend to finish that and Lamentations tonight. I hoping to be caught up by the end of the week. Or maybe even a little ahead!

  8. I am behind, but figured out today how much extra I have to read each day to finish by October 6. I know the challenge ends on the 8th, but that is also the day we leave on my son’s Make-A-Wish trip, so I know I’ll need to finish a couple of days before that.

  9. I am a few days behind, but look forward to get caught up this weekend while I have the weekend to myself. This challenge has been tough, but so rewarding!

  10. I will finish in 90 days! I fell behind early on and once I finally caught up I haven’t allowed it to happen again! So…how do we get one of those cool “I did it” t-shirts?

  11. I’m still on track to finish on October 8th even though I’m just finishing day 45 today. I’ve been reading 2 readings a day for the past two weeks to be able to finish on time. I had totally given up after the first two weeks and did not read anything for almost a month, but it just wasn’t sitting right with me. I then read the week 8 check in and knew I could do it. I’m so glad I came back to fulfill my commitment I made to God. I’m so glad He is with me through this challenge.

  12. Yes- I am on schedule! I have fallen behind twice and caught up. I am determined to finish on time. I thoroughly enjoyed Daniel today. This whole experience had taught me a lot about the ability to prioritize my time. I am amazed I could fit it in- what was I doing with my time before?

I plan to do this all over again!

Blessings to everyone- hang in there. Together we can do this!

  13. I am 2 chapters behind where I wanted to be at the start of the day. I just could not keep my eyes open any longer. Reading earlier today and expect to be back on track at the end of the day. My September has been crazy busy and other times, I have been this busy, my bible reading has been one of the things to slide early on. This time through the busyness, I have read everyday, some days less other days more but have always stayed within 2 days of on schedule. I am thoroughly enjoying reading. I am being challenged and I am seeing ripples into my daily life. Thank you for the challenge and the encouragement.

I’m a day behind in the reading but I will catch up this week. WOW- to the two ladies who have already finished. Great job!

  15. I was a week behind for a couple of weeks, but now I’m ahead – I’m planning to finish the New Testament today. I’m currently almost done with Zechariah, and Malachi is short. Plus, I’m SUPER excited to read through the New Testament!! It’s very odd for me to have this much desire to read the Bible, but I’m going with it. :D

I tried doing B90Days on my own earlier this year – I was about 40 days (?) behind y’all’s start date in Spring 2011. I made it through Isaiah. This time, I know I’ll be finishing!

  16. I am still reading, but am about 10 days behind. But I’m about 50 days ahead of where I would have been if I had taken up the challenge to begin with. So, I am tramping onward, enjoying it and learning and gleaning so much from this amazing but fast read.

    1. Oops, typo….should read 50 days ahead of where I would have been if I HADN”T taken up the challenge to begin with.

    2. Sounds like you are doing well– You can totally make up the 10 days soon! Keep it up! :)

This challenge is just what I needed to read through the Bible. I just finnished reading Hosea and will begin Joel either tonight or tomorrow. I wish I could say I was ahead of schedule, but I am praising GOD that I continued to stay on schedule!

    1. Sounds great! Keep it up! :)

I’m 8 days behind, mostly as a result of last week’s vacation. Going to try to double up every day this week. Really want to finish on time!

    1. You can do it! Good idea to catch up NOW rather than wait. :)

And great job to the two that have already finished! That is amazing!

    1. I know– pretty cool huh?

I’ve Spent all weekend in a marathon reading session trying to catch up; I just finished Isaiah Wednesday. Managed to get through Ezekiel 23 but I had to call it quits for the night. I will get caught up though and I will finish on time.

    1. I am soooo proud of you for working so hard to get caught up! Keep it up!!!

Thanks Amy! I never finished the January session – you’re point of not finishing if you modify your goal date too much is spot on. But not finishing gave me more determination to finish this time around.

  29. I’m behind, but I will be caught up and finishing by Oct8th! :D

    1. Sounds great! Keep it up!! :)

I’m still reading. I’m a little behind but hoping to catch up this week. I’ll be reading Ezekial 25 tomorrow so not too far behind. I was just talking about this challenge with a friend today. I don’t use twitter but I keep up with Moms Toolbox on fb and your soap devotionals. Thanks for the extra push. I anticipate crossing the finish line with you on Oct 8th

  40. Reading Ezekiel 36 – so near schedule. I Plan to finish on Oct. 8. I follow mom’stoolbox on Twitter then post with tweets but have trouble keeping up with the chats — fairly consistent in checking in each week but sometime late. I enjoy reading and seeing #B90Days. I have to make myself share as it doesn’t come easily. Donna
