B 90 Days Day 24 SOAP: Wisdom to govern

Today’s Reading: 2Samuel22:19-1Kings 7:37

Scripture: 1Kings 3: 9

So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?’

Observation:

Of all the things Solomon could have asked for, he chose wisdom. And I think that was pretty wise in itself!

Application:

I could certainly use more wisdom. I may not be governing a kingdom as Solomon did, but I am governing my own life and my children. I am also doing my best to guide our online Bible in 90 Days mentors and readers and a community of Online Missionaries through Global Media Outreach. For all of those I need wisdom from the Lord. For everything I need the wisdom of the Lord.

We all need wisdom to govern our great people, whether they be one person or one million or more. And it seems to me the Lord is willing to share this wisdom, provided we ask, listen and follow.

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for hearing my repeated cries for wisdom in so many aspects of my life.

You are the Lord of all of me and I want to honor and follow you in everything. Please, Lord, guide me in hearing your direction and recognizing your wisdom even in the things that appear to be setbacks. Thank you for grooming me, for loving me and for sharing your wisdom. And thank you for the many wise people you are allowing me to learn from in my reading of the Bible, in meeting via the internet and encountering face to face.

Thank you, Lord for allowing and enabling me to serve you. Please, Lord, show me what I need to know and allow me to hear what I need to hear. And give me the discernment to discard the rest.

Guide me as I lead, govern and follow.

Thank you, Lord.
