B 90 Days SOAP: God is in the everyday

Day 27 of the Bible in 90 Days

Scripture: 2Kings 5:13

Naaman’s servants went to him and said, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more, then, when he tells you, ‘Wash and be cleansed’!”

Observation: Naaman wanted to be cured of leprosy, so he approached the prophet Elisha. He was disappointed with Elisha’s instructions, as they were quite simple. Because of this he doubted they would work. He was expecting something more grand. Naaman’s servants, however, convinced him to just follow the instructions and he was healed.

Application: I wonder if sometimes I miss the Lord’s direction in my life because I am looking for something grand. I must remember that His voice and fingerprints are everywhere: on little and big things, grand and meek. Jesus was ‘missed’ by so many because his earthly beginning was humble and not majestic by our standards at the time.

Prayer: Lord, please guide me to see your guidance, direction, voice and fingerprints in all places you want me to see them. Guide me in not only looking for the grand, but also for the everyday and tiny. You are everywhere, Lord. Please don’t let me miss you.

  1. That’s 2 blog-posts I’ve read today about God being in the everyday.

  2. Amen! Not only the grand, but also the everyday!

Thanks for commenting on my blog. I am hanging on, keeping up the reading because I know that JOB and PSALMS and ISAIAH are ahead!
