Bible in 90 Days Day 74 SOAP: Help with the harvest

Today’s Reading: Luke 10:1- Luke 20:19

Scripture: Luke 10:2

He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.

Observation:

There is a lot to be done to gather those for Christ, but it will take more workers than we have. And He will send more if we ask.

Application:

For the last week I have been praying with intensity about the next Bible in 90 Days session.

Should this always be a January and July thing? How can I manage it? Who will be on our next lead team? How will I encourage new mentors? Can I do it in a different format? Am I taking on too much?

This morning as I read I kept asking God to tell me what to do.

And then this verse struck me.

So, here is my application and question for you:

If you are a Bible in 90 Days graduate, either with our online group or in a church (or if you are about to graduate) and you would be willing to help others read the Bible in 90 Days, will you let me know?

I’m still working out the details for our next session and I could sure use some help in quite a few ways. Please pray about it. And then, if you are in, please tell me how you would like to help with the harvest. (I would list ideas of ways you could help, but I don’t want to limit you or God.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father,

Thanks for giving us the Bible. And thanks for Ted Cooper who read the Bible, cover to cover, in 90 days, and then showed the rest of us how to do it.

Please guide me in guiding others to read the Bible in its entirety. Show me my next steps. And, please, show others how they can play a role in helping, too, whether that be online or in person.

Guide us in hearing your direction and following it completely.

Guide us in harvesting for you.

Thank you, Lord.

Amen.

  1. I started this current session and didn’t finish. I would be very willing to be an accountability partner to someone. Different than a mentor, obviously, but I know it would be nice for me if I had someone to e-mail check-ins with, even daily, to encourage each other to stay on track.

  2. I would love to help you in any way I could. I’ve been telling all my friends about the plan and was thinking about setting up a local group to do the challenge. There is nothing better than encouraging people to get into the Word.

  3. I think I’ll be able to help in January. I didn’t participate in the most recent 90 day read, but I did with the one earlier in the year. I’ve decided that doing it once a year would be just about right for me. I’ll be watching for ways you want help.

  4. Amy,
What an answer to prayer your post today (Mon) was announcing the change to wait until January to begin again. I so wanted to volunteer, but knew I couldn’t do it this fall, and had thought January would be a great time. I was just going to email you today telling you that, and then here was your post announcing the change. I am happy to help in the next round in January by being a mentor and blogging about it. Although I am still a bit behind, I am making rapid progress and WILL finish on time, which will mean that all things considered, I will have read the Bible in about 45 days, instead of 90, because there was quite a bit of travel, etc. this time and MANY days with no reading. It has been such a blessing, however, and I am willing to help!

  5. I feel like Abby, I keep talking about next time! I am so blessed to have found this and you and I want to help you in whatever way you need to help with an October group! Just let me know what you need and I am in!

  6. Excited to report that I have finished the plan…I never thought I’d be able to read the whole Bible in 90 days, let alone 75!!

  7. Hi Amy-
Completing this program for a second time has been an even bigger blessing than it was the first time. I’d love to help out the next group in whatever capacity I could. You just let me know what you need!
    Peace, Kristen

  8. I am so sorry I am just now getting to check in…we were on vacation and sans- internet..so today is the first day I have been able to check in. Unfortunately, the vacation made me more behind, not more caught up. I am about 5 days behind, which is the most I have been behind. I am hoping to catch up though!!
    Thanks

  10. I can’t wait to help! I would love to mentor, read, lead a group, blog, whatever you need. Just let me know what you need me to do, and I am here to help!

  11. I’ve Tweeted, DMed and emailed my interest. I’m in. I am flexible, but I can: Guest Blog, Moderate Weekly Chat, Prayer, Spreading the word.

What a great verse and a great effort on your part. Thanks. I look forward to hearing from you.

  12. I am willing to help in whatever capacity is needed. I second Kari–bring it on!

  13. Amy- I am willing to help…just let me know what you need!

  14. I will help however I can. I am starting an IRL group October 4, and I’d be glad to be a mentor to an online group as well. :)
Love the harvest! Bring it on!

  15. Amy – I would be willing to be a mentor for the next session. I’m an administrative/organizer person so would love to be a help to you in that area if that’s something that would be useful. Something I could do on my blog to promote or help host?

  16. Amy,

I’ve told you I’m interested more times than you need :) but I have several non-blogging friends that would like to join as well. I’d be happy to be their go-between and help however I can.

Thanks for your diligence to bring this to life!
