Bible in 90 Days Day 72 SOAP: Denied and still loved

Today’s Reading: Mark 9:14- Luke 1:80

Scripture: Mark 14:72
Immediately the rooster crowed the second time. Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows twice you will disown me three times.” And he broke down and wept.

Observation:
As he rooster crowed, Peter realized that he had denied Jesus, just as Jesus had told him he would do. This really upset him.

Application:
Here is a man who knew Jesus face to face, heard his voice clearly, witnessed his miracles and even healed people in his name. And yet, when he was scared, he denied him, just as the Lord warned him he would do. Peter was human.
Peter also realized the error in his denial and it struck him hard.
And later, Jesus still comes back to him and loves him.
One might think Peter would be dismissed for his dismissal of Jesus, but instead he was forgiven and loved.
And the same happens for you and me. He loves us, even through our big and little mistakes. And as we apologize and come back, He welcomes us with open, loving and forgiving arms.
Wow. Thank you, Lord, for that!

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, you are again amazing.
Thank you for your never-ending love of us and your second third and fourth chances. Even when we deny you in fear, you wait for us to come back to the Truth. And then you wrap us up in your love. Thank you, Lord.
Please, Lord, help those that don’t know that to understand it. Help those who feel unloved and those who think they could never approach you to realize that they can and that your love is for all who want to bask in it.
If I can be an instrument to help share this in new ways, or more fervently in ways I already do, then, Lord, please show me where and how.
Thank you for the privilege of your your love and forgiveness… Which are open to all.
