Bible in 90 Days Summer 2010 Celebration Check in

To each and every one of you who joined me on this journey through the Bible in 90 (-ish for some) days:  Thank you. And I am sorry.

Oh how I wish I could have written a personal note to every one of your beautiful, honest comments and emails. You touched me with your joys, triumphs and your tragedies over the past three months. I appreciated your dedication to reading His Word and to following my requests that you check in with me. You are all beautiful, loving people with big hearts… for the Lord and His creation. You have amazed me. I deeply regret that I could not respond to each and every one of you individually, but please know that I did read each and every word and I did pray for each of you as I read your words.. . and often many times after that, as well.

I love you and I thank you for your trust in me to jump in, hold on and read, read, read. Thank you for hanging in when the reading got tough for whatever reason it got tough for you.. content, life.. whatever. This reading plan is not easy and Satan certainly doesn’t want anyone to follow it. And that comes through throughout the program. But so many of you made it and many more of you will round it out and finish soon. I can only imagine what the Lord has in store for you as a result of your dedication to His Word. I can honestly say I never thought this would be what He had in store for me… or for you. I love how he has brought us together. It’s truly amazing!

I am just so thankful that HE is the one in charge. And that you listened to His call.

Thanks, again, for jumping in and trusting the program.

Plans are in the works for our next online session which will begin January 3. The next go around I hope to have more small group interaction and a few other enhancements. And, if you are a graduate, I would love for you to consider serving as a mentor or in one of many other capacities to get our next group rolling and over the finish line. This session we had 560 readers sign up initially. 25 mentors stepped up and guided many of them to the finish. I could not have managed this without their devotion to each of you.

Thank you so much to our amazing mentors:

You stepped in where I could not and encouraged me every step of the way,  as well as your readers. Thank you.

And thank you, again to you, for your dedication and what will happen next as a result of reading His Word, all of it, in such a short period of time.

Please stay in touch.

Over the next few weeks I’ll post more about the Bible in 90 Days ministry, I’ll share a few ideas for next steps, I’ll post about meeting up in Pennsylvania later his month, and I’ll post my plans for our next group, and I will continue to post daily SOAP, among many other things. Oh, and for those who are still reading, I will post an absolutely FINAL check-in in 2 weeks on October 18, to keep you motivated to finish up and not give up. I want you to read his entire Word. And I know you can do it. SO DON’T GIVE UP!

As you do finish, please follow this link and fill in your finisher information so I can keep track of who has finished, list you properly if you would like, contact you if needed (maybe about finisher T-shirts…), and get your feedback on the program.

So, now that you are finished, what do you think? How has this impacted you (so far)? And how will you remember this experience? Please, link up or comment and let us know. And thanks, again. I’ll miss you, so, please, don’t be a stranger.

Also, if you have a few minutes to celebrate this evening, please use the #B90Days hashtag and join us on Twitter anytime between 8-9 CST to chat about our experiences with Bible in 90 Days. We will celebrate our victory, His victory and encourage others to finish and even more to consider joining on January 3.  I hope you can make it.

I may not have finished with you guys but I’m still plugging along and I will finish it! I will let you know when I do finally finish it. Thanks for all the encouragement!! :-)

  3. This was my second time reading through the Bible this year, and it was amazing. I did not get a post up today about it, but a friend posted an email I sent her as we were winding up the first time, it is here:

This has been such a rich experience that I really cannot adequately summarize it, but I will say that our God is amazing, His Word is beautiful, and every believer should do this at least once in their life…but once you do it, it will become part of you.

  4. I finally posted!! SO much to think about. Thank you, Amy!!

I just finished!!!! I’m so excited! 91 days for me since I started one day late. Wow. Thanks Amy! I never would have even thought of doing this (or thought I COULD do this) if not for you and everyone here praying! Awesome.

  6. Thank you so much Amy for putting this together! I can’t wait to be a part of it again in January.
    In Christ,
    Dr. Laura

  7. I feel awful that I didn’t finish with everyone else. I was on track for 70 straight days, and then my morning sickness got the best of me. I am still hoping to finish in the next week or so. Our church challenged everyone to 21 days of bible reading, so I thought I can definitely finish it! It was an incredible experience, and I look forward to saying I actually read the bible through. Thank you so much for offering this to so many of us. It was truly a blessing. I’ll check in with you when I finish :)

  8. I would love one! Just keep me posted – I can help in whatever way I need to.

    Thanks!
    Jenna

I finished reading last Wednesday. First, this has been an amazing journey and one I plan to take many times in the future again. Second, to all of you who haven’t finished yet, know that I am praying for you to have strength as you work to complete this goal. You’ll be so glad you did. :-)

  10. I finished! 92 days but I’m giving myself grace since I did it in 90 earlier this year. It was great this time around, especially being a mentor. Can’t wait to have a minute to do a blog post about it, but for now… here’s my HOORAY!!!

What a blessng this has been for me. Satan worked so VERY hard to stop me but, I would not give into him.Im 58 years old and This was my first time to read the Bible cover to cover but I don’t want it to be my last. I plan on doing it again maybe even in Jan.It has opened a new door to my faith. Thank you so much for an amazing journey

  12. I JUST finished! Feels great to be done and I can’t wait to see what is in store for me next.

  13. Hi Amy! I finished on schedule on 10/2 with 33 minutes left in the day! Woot! I filled out the graduate form but I’m still not listed. I just submitted another one. Thanks for facilitating this challenge. It allowed me to read the bible from cover to cover for the first time in my 47 years. It was an incredible blessing. God bless you!

No quite done, but will be soon. A few hiccups got in to my schedule, but am now past them and continuing to read His word. Will check in when I have finished :)

  15. I have not finished reading, but I am still reading until done. I am enjoying the experience too much to stop. This will be my first time reading the Bible entirely throughout. Thanks for the 18th extension. As my son just said, “Oh, you can do that done!”

It’s amazing what can be done when we all encourage each other. I’m sure the accountability really helped. Now I’m ready to dig in and linger a little over Scripture.

  17. It’s been a most wonderful experience. It was fun having my daughter reading along so we could keep each other accountable. It was so exciting to finally get to the end and know that we had made it!

My mom was interested in the experience, so I bought her a 90 Day Bible and she’s reading through it now too! It’s contagious!

  18. loved this challenge! and i completely felt encouraged and prayed for by you- so don’t get discouraged about not being able to be in contact as you wanted to. at least from this end, i was MORE than impressed with all the emails and positive help i received from you! thanks amy!

  19. I feel like such a slacker :( I do think my position is much better now that baby is 5 weeks old…but still about 30 days behind. 30 DAYS. Wow, that’s a lot. And doubling up readings is just impossible with school going on here (home school). It’s ok to finish a month late…? Better late than never, right?

  20. Thank you so much for this awesome challenge! It was definitely so awesome to read through the entire Bible once again. I did it while a Bible College Student about 14 years ago, and have unsuccessfully tried over the years! But I did it this time! I used the NIV Study Bible and ESV Study Bible! Praying about helping in January!

  21. thanks for everything, Amy! no need to apologize about not answering every bit of communication. I think we all know you are a busy wife and mom. :) I’ll be praying about helping out in January.

What an amazing journey! Thank you so much for your leadership! I’m upset that I will miss the tweet up tonight. I will be on a plane. I’m hoping someone will post a link to the transcript.

  23. This has been an amazing journey.
I almost gave up a few times, glad I didn’t.
I also saw a common thread in areas I’m struggling with.
I read the Bible this time using the NIV version.
I enjoyed it so much I have begun reading through again,
    using the Amplified version.
I’ll be going at a much slower rate.

  24. What beautiful sentiments! I hope to add my blog post today and come back and add it in! This has been an AMAZING journey! I started again today, and will be finished on January 1st or earlier. Can’t wait for the group to start back up!

  25. Debra, Kay Arthur has a great kids study on Daniel. It’s not baby-ish, just great for guiding the kids through it. We’ve done it and the one on James and Jonah. Fantastic.

  26. I didn’t create a new post, just my final check-in from Saturday. But wow. Still can’t believe we got through it all in 90 days. I’m starting a study of Psalms that I had to put on hold for this, my kids want to study Daniel… if you know of some great resources for that, I’d love to hear about ’em… :)
