Bible in 90 Days Week 12/ Day 78 Check in

Greetings, Bible in 90 Days readers!

Today we are on Day 78 of the Bible in 90 Days which means that by the time you go to sleep tonight, you should have finished reading up to Acts 16:37.

Tonight on Twitter we will be chatting about our reading up through yesterday’s reading (through Acts 6:7).  I hope you can join us for the discussion. Be sure to follow the #B90Days hashtag.

Can you believe that we only have 12 days left in our program? There are 2 grace days built in, so many of you will actually finish reading the entire Bible by Day 88, in just 10 short days!

(As you do finish, please send me an email to let me know so that I can list you as one of our grads and others can be encouraged by your progress.)

Okay, so….how is it coming for you? Please leave a comment below to let the rest of us know so that we can pray for you and encourage you.

After you comment here, please send your Bible in 90 Days  mentor an email to let her know how you are doing, too. Each one of them is diligently praying for you and would love to hear from you directly, if at all possible.

Stay strong in your reading and you CAN and WILL do this. Don’t give up!

  1. I am about 4 days behind as I was out of town for a family wedding and didn’t get as much reading done as I had planned. I am committed to finishing in 12 days though and will get my reading done!

  2. I was behind last week, but am now completely caught up! It’s wonderful having such a great frame of reference for sermons in church now!!! This last Sunday, our pastor preached about the manager parable that I had just read the day before :) Thank you so much!!!!

  3. Last week, I asked for prayer for my husband and I as we are trying to sell our house and move to another city where he has been working the last 14 months. It has been very encouraging to see God at work as we read through the Bible in 90 days. It was very encouraging to see God at work on behalf of your prayers for us. Thanks for the prayers. We will not finish on time. But we have set a goal to finish reading the Bible before our wedding anniversary in late October. Do keep praying for each other!

  4. By the time I go to bed tonight, I should be right on track! It helps that my husband will be watching Monday Night Football. ;-) Reading the gospels right in a row was really interesting. It was interesting to see the similarities and differences.

I am almost finished with John so I am a little behind, but not overwhelmed. I have never read all on John. This gospel has excited me. I want to go back and dig into the places my heart wanted to sit with bbut couldn’t right now.

  6. Woohoo still reading and on track! Thanks for everyone’s prayers!!

  7. i just got through with tonights. im so glad im caught up.

  8. Just need to finish today’s reading. :)

Can’t believe that we only have 10 days worth of reading left!

  9. I’m somewhere between Mark 5 and 10 (I don’t have my Bible on hand right now, so I’m not sure). I’m SOOOOOOO glad to have finished the OT on Friday night. I’m still reading and even have hopes (!!!) of finishing on time!

  10. All caught up and a bit ahead….today I read Day 82. Hope to finish this week, before school gets any busier!

  11. a little behind but still going! I am determined to finish on time.

  12. Doing just fine. All caught up. Hope all is well with you.

  13. Checking in really quickly tonight. I am 2 days behind because this week has been NUTS! I hope to get caught up this week, however if it ends up that I read the Bible in 91 days, that’s ok too! I will still feel very accomplished at having done it. I’ve never done it before so I am thrilled with my progress. God has been very good to allow the time to make it through!

  14. I’m halfway through Day 81 as of this moment. Romans was so warm and awesome since all the OT references were fresh! And in church I smile so much more now when I passages are quoted in the sermon because they are familiar! So glad I’ve done this. Hoping to finish ahead of schedule.

  15. I’m on Day 75, so a few behind. Hopefully I’ll get through 75 tonight and be caught up by the end of the week.

  16. sigh….just starting Matthew yesterday. Didn’t even finish the first chapter. Hopefully, I can get through a couple days’ worth tonight. All boxes unpacked except for a couple in the garage and they’re the husband’s responsibility!

  17. I was quite behind last week…somewhere in Isaiah. Earlier today, I finished Galatians! I was determined to catch up and am Just in love with the NT! I’ll be done in a day or two. Then I’m starting over! :) Teens are caught up. Mom and littles are slightly behind.

  18. I am currently on schedule, actually a few days ahead in anticipation of some busy days in the next few weeks. So great to see the finish line!

  19. I did catch up a bit last week, but had family visiting this past weekend, so not much reading then. But, I am aiming for 50 pages read Monday – Thursday, with another 50 pages read on Fri/Sat/Sun combined. This puts me finishing ON TIME with the group. I am on page 613 today. But the day is not over yet :)

I’m still with the program though still 3 1/2 days behind. I’ve been feeling such a strong pull to His Word since we’ve started this challenge in July but even more so since we arrived in the New Testament. I’m planning to be caught up by the finish line! This challenge has really helped me to put my priorities in the proper order. I’ve learned that it is essential to trust in Him and that he will faithfully provide, just as He promised!

It’s so exciting to be in the home stretch. I love the New Testament and though I can’t wait to accomplish this goal , I’m also trying to savor
the words each morning. What an awesome God we have!

  23. I feel like this is a bad deju-vu, because here I am again confessing that I am behind! Still! But I’m not giving up, even if it takes me longer than 90 days. This is a challenge, and I am still gunning for the finish line! Who knows, maybe it will all come together and I will finish in the 90 days, but if not, I will still finish. I think, for me at least, that is what is more important. Congrats to those who have finished already! I cannot wait to see everyone’s names on the graduates list (including my own).

  24. I am here. . .and almost caught up!

I am almost to LUKE! (I started in Jeremiah 1 last Monday, 9/13). We are in the midst of School Accreditation this week, so I am reading when I can. . .I WILL finish with our group (it may be at 11:59 p.m. that day though!) :)

  25. We were on vacation last week. We spent the ride up listening to Matthew and the ride home we listened to all Mark, Luke and to John 5. Amazingly, we finished John 5 the moment we pulled into our drive way! I just finished Acts 16. I can’t believe we are almost done and I think I’m actually going to miss reading through the Bible when we are done. It has been so nice to have a plan and the accountability.

  26. I just finished day 75 and am hoping to finish day 76 by the end of today – that will put me only 2 days behind! I see the light!!! :-)

  27. I FINALLY got caught up last night!!!! The kids are napping now, so I’m going to go and get some of today’s reading done. I have loved this experience and I’m glad I stuck with it with life was really hard. The gospels have have really interesting reading them all together. There are a few things that I have noted that I want to go back and read/study more. But right now I’m happy to be on track again!!!!

  28. I’m on schedule to finish in 90 days. I am so thrilled to have done this! Such a worthy goal to set and so rewarding to finish. My mind is being renewed and transformed by this process. As Linda commented, my TV has been off most of the past three months- how refreshing. So much less garbage floating around in my mind and so much more of God’s Word.

  29. I am caught up this week!

  30. I am certain that I will finish on time, but I have to sadly admit that I am a few days behind. My goal is to be caught back up today, but it might not be until tomorrow. I’m not giving up, though!

  31. i am fairly certain i’m going to need those grace days! i really need to focus this week, but i am committed to finishing with the group and reading a bunch. i am definitely finding it harder to catch up in the new testament than i did in the old testament, because i find myself not wanting to rush through it– so i think i know what i’m going to go back and read when we’re done! still loving the challenge and praying that God helps me remember to fill my spare moments with His word instead of silly meaningless things. thanks amy!

  32. After 2 weeks of company I am 2 days behind (oops, I ALMOST wrote weeks!).

My goal is to catch up this week.

I am loving this! I told a friend that everyone should do this at least once! Not that we are super-spiritual, but because we are NOT! We need this! I am finding I do so much better with large portions of scripture poured in me daily. I have often followed a read the Bible in a year plan, but I think I will be making my own read the Bible twice a year plan after this.

  33. So cool to see you guys getting near the end or finishing!

  34. Yeah! I am still caught up. Thankful for this opportunity and looking forward to finally being able to say that I have read the Bible cover-to-cover.

  35. I have been so blessed by this reading group and this challenge. I think most of you are a lot younger than Me, judging from the conversations but I’m a mom too. It’s just that my baby is 38 years old.l LOL But I have seen a new perspective not only from the straight read thru but by seeing it through your eyes. We’ve (speaking of my age group) heard the Bible preached in textual ways all of our life. This gave me, at least, a view of the broader look at the Old Testament manifested in the New Testament. I would say , “There it is! Here is where God ties in this principal or the other.”

I have learned a lot. I loved every minute. The TV has hardly been on at my house. I used to be an avid game player on Facebook but my crops are in trouble and the animals are attacking. I have spent my time in the Word. http://llyon48.blogspot.com/

  36. I made alot of progress this past week, praise God. I am now reading day 74 today so I feel good that I will be able to catch up and finish on time. I thought I might have gotten too far behind but I’m hopeful now that I will make it again! So happy to have reached the new testament!!

Reading day 82!! Can you believe it?? I want to go back and read 1 Corinthinans again. That was such an emotional book for me as a large piece of my wedding vows came from that book and my husband and I are struggling currently. If only I could get him to read it and be moved by it too! I am so blessed and happy to be on this journey with all of you. Thank you and prayers to each of you!

  38. I finished the Bible last night! I love my compelted journal of the names and attributes of God I kept track of in my reading (I have to keep track of something or I tend to speed read and not really think since I have read through the Bible so many times, so much of it is “old hat” to me. I am so glad I did it this way….many times in the past I did the Discipleship Journal version in a year and loved it. But for this stage of my life I liked the shorter time frame with less days to reach the goal. But I realized that it shouldn’t just be a “one time” or “occasional” type goal. I need to continue to be in the Word DAILY. Every single day. If I spend more time on Facebook, or blogs, or emails than I do on the Word of God, my priorities are OFF! I am not exactly sure what I am going to do next – Tim Challies introduced a 10 chapter a day plan by Professor Horner that looks good. In the course of a year you read some books more than once and read from both OT and NT daily. I think that might fit my goals and needs moving forward. I am so glad I stumbled on this program. The day I found it followed a week of restlessness in my heart and knowing I needed to be back in the Word regularly, but not knowing what exactly to do. I am thrilled I did this plan.

Caught up and loving it. Spent a long while in the word yesterday catching up, it’s amazing how the things that have normally filled my time in the past have slipped away this summer and aren’t that important to me anymore. Can’t believe that we’re only 10 days from finishing! :-)

  41. I begin Romans 11 this morning.

  42. I’m still caught up. I just can’t believe how close we are to the finish line. The gospels were a little more time consuming to read than I’d expected, but I found it really interesting to read them in such proximity to one another–It really made it easy to see how they parallel each other.

  43. Still on schedule. I can’t believe we will finish in less than 2 weeks. I know this was a God thing the way I stumbled on this blog. I will always have a special place in my heart for you, Amy for challenging us to do this. God bless you and yours!

    Finished reading the whole Bible!

  45. Am still caught up! I struggled with the gospels – they took a lot longer to read, because there’s so much depth there. I’m already finding that Acts is much faster reading. I’m aiming to finish in 88 days – Sept 30th, here I come! :-)

  46. I finished chapter 16 yesterday. I also ran, did a morning devotion before AM service, taught Bible study for the little ones. After PM services, we ran to a congregation 20 min. away for their Gospel Meeting! It was a long day!!!

  47. Still behind. Will finish on time – I just need to double my reading everyday. :)

  48. We’re still behind. My kids were camping, which didn’t help. But hey, we’ll get it done close to on schedule. I think.

  49. I can’t believe we only have 12 days left!! I’m really, really enjoying the NT.
