Blogging Through the Gospels: He was blameless

The reading for Thursday is John chapter 19 .

Here is what I heard:

Scripture:

John 19:4

Once more Pilate came out and said to the Jews, “Look, I am bringing him out to you to let you know that I find no basis for a charge against him.”

Observation:

Several times Pilate wants to release Jesus and not punish him. Again he is explaining to the Jews that he cannot find any judgment against Jesus.

Application:

Jesus was without sin and definitely without sin worthy of crucifixion. And yet He still paid the price and died a painful, criminal’s death. He had several opportunities to walk away from this fate, but He knew what needed to be done for each of us and so he withstood it.

Prayer:

Lord, Thank you for your son Jesus and His commitment to each of us and your truth. Thank you for sending Him to die for me and my sins. Thank you for your love.

What about you? What did you see and hear in your reading?
