Blogging Through the Gospels: Luke 5

The reading for Saturday is Luke 5.

Here is what I heard:

I am not following completely

(Yikes. That hurt to share.)

Scripture: Luke 5:11

So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.

Observation:

They were so amazed by Jesus’ actions that they immediately left what they were doing and began to follow him completely.

Application:

God has amazed me– but how much of my life without him do I still cling to? And why?

How can I be a better, fuller follower?

Prayer:

Dear Lord, please show me what I need to release to follow you completely.

Thank you for loving me even when I hold onto the world. Guide me, please, in letting go and being more like your first disciples who left everything to follow you.
What about you? What did you see and hear in your reading of Luke 5?

No matter how impossible the situation may be, Jesus can still change it.
