Camp Care Packages

Summer is in full swing, which means it is also the season for camp care packages.

I remember waiting for mail call as a camper, wondering if I would be lucky enough to score a care package. We weren’t allowed to get food in our packages, but I had a friend who was a master at the false bottom and she’d always send tons of candy hidden below the cardboard and confetti. She also sent a party mix tape (this was the 1980s) and tons of confetti, and silly toys.

Now that my kids go to summer camp (and I am allowed to send candy) I have a blast each year crafting care packages with silly, fun stuff.

We send airplane craft kits, yo-yos, fake bugs and lizards, and, of course, candy.

If your kids go to camp, what do  you include in your care packages (in addition to sweet notes, of course)?? A friend of mine has asked me for some ideas, and we could use yours, too….

Lauren can’t get candy or gum at her camp, so I had to think a little harder. Other ideas:
    -bubbles
-teen magazines (&tape to hang the mini posters of Taylor L)
    -FLARP, play dough, silly putty
    -cute hair bobbles
    -beach ball
    -friendship pins/bracelets supplies
-personalized calling cards/stickers to give out to cabin mates
