Today’s reading in Esther is Esther 9. I am sorry I was unable to post yesterday. I was traveling back home after visiting family in Ohio, so the day got away from me before I could post.
Here is what grabbed me from today’s reading:
Scripture: Esther 9: 31
to establish these days of Purim at their designated times, as Mordecai the Jew and Queen Esther had decreed for them, and their descendants in regard to their times of fasting and lamentation.
Esther listened to God and Mordecai and not only saved the Jews who would have been killed by Haman’s edict, but also enabled the Jews to strike down their enemies and established days of joy and feasting which are still commemorated.
I wonder what each of us can change by just listening and really acting on what God directs.
Lord, thank you for this inspiration from a Godly woman who listened to your instruction, acted in patience and with respect, and changed the course of history. Please, Lord, guide all of us to be better listeners and followers of you. Only you know what will come as a result… and I bet it could be pretty exciting.
