Daily Devotion: 31 Days in Proverbs: Proverbs 2

Proverbs in 31 Days with MomsToolbox

Good Saturday morning!

This morning I will pick up my daughter after 2 weeks away at summer camp, the summer camp I most loved as a child and attended for 5 years. Yesterday I got see her in a few of her camp classes, meet some of her friends and reunite with one of my camp BFFs whose daughter is now attending the camp and was in the same cabin as my daughter this summer. What a sweet, sweet, gift. Walking around camp brought back so many beautiful memories and I love that my daughter will have variations on those memories.

But that’s not why you are here.

If you are reading and reflecting along with me this month, we are in Proverbs and, seeing as it is the 2nd of the month, we are reading Proverbs 2.

I dis not SOAP Proverbs 2 because I didn’t feel pulled to one particular verse. Instead the entire chapter grabbed me, as I felt God reminding me of how important it is to seek his wisdom. I felt like today’s reading was a big confirmation in taking the day-by-day journey through Proverbs for the month.

His wisdom is supreme. And it is there for us to seek and add to our own. (Or really  to replace our own.) And, even though at times things may not go as we want, His path is the best and His wisdom sees that.

Yesterday was such a joyful day. It was marred with two things that were disappointing, though, as well. One of those things was a business speed bump and one was a family thing that I’ll likely share about later. Even in those two not-so-optimal things, His wisdom reigns supreme and  listening to Him and taking His words to heart will help me to follow him more closely and have even more faith in His presence in all that is happening. I have no doubt He’s glad I’m reading and reflecting. And I most certainly am, too.

What about you? Did any one thing grab you? Do you care to share what you heard as you read today? I’d love to read your thoughts if you are up for sharing them.

I’m glad we are in this together.

  1. I reread this in the Message to see if anything would be brought to my attention..and it reminded me to continue to pray for Godly friends for my both my daughters. They may only be elementary aged but chapter2 suggests that good friends act as a guardrail in life choices. Who doesn’t need that?

    1. I agree we all need that!
      Thanks for reading with me.
