God’s focused plan vs my multifaceted one. Proverbs 19

If you are reading the Proverbs in 31 Days with us, our reading for today is Proverbs 19.

Here is what I heard:

Scripture: Proverbs 19: 21

Many are the plans in a man’s heart,

but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

Observation:

We may have a lot of plans, but it is the Lord’s plan and will which will prosper.

Application:

How can I prune all of my plans and try harder to make them align with God’s plans for me? I love to run with things before really praying about them… but taking the time to pray, ask and then listen would be better.

Prayer:

Lord, please guide me in working toward your plan and not just my own. I don’t want to chase what feels like too many trails. But that is just what I am doing. Help me to slim down to what serves you… and of those things which ones you want me to pursue. I want to follow your plan. Help me, Lord to see it. Thank you.

What about you?

How do you decipher God’s plan? Or what else spoke to you in today’s reading?
