Waging war? Seek guidance. Proverbs 20

If you are reading the Proverbs in 31 Days with us, our reading for today is Proverbs 20.

Scripture: Proverbs 20: 18

Make plans by seeking advice;

if you wage war, obtain guidance.

Observation:

Search out good advice when you are going into a potentially challenging situation.

Application:

So much in life really can be war.

Anything and everything we do for the glory of God is war to Satan.

I try to pray and ask God for guidance, but I forget that I live in a battle zone and sometimes I don’t give prayer for guidance the time it really needs.

I need to really pause, and suit up with prayer. I need to ask and really, really listen. I need to consider His guidance above all else and not go with whims.

Satan doesn’t want our plans for the Lord to succeed. But with God’s guidance they will prosper.

Prayer:

Lord, I need your advice. In several areas of my life I am waging war against Satan and I need your wisdom. I am just coming to realize how much of a war I am waging and I know you can help me.. if only I seek you and listen to you better.

Guide me, please. And thank you so much for this reminder to stop, slow down and l-i-s-t-e-n to you. You’ve got the best answers. If am too busy, I won’t hear them.

Thank you, Lord. And thank you for the plans you have been sharing with me.

Please, Lord, guide all who want to listen. Let us all see how to stop, seek, listen and respond.

What about you?

How do you listen to the Lord? Do you have a set way you petition and listen? Or do you just wing it?

Or what struck you from today’s reading?
