I don’t want any of that

Scripture: Ezekiel 24:14

“‘I the Lord have spoken. The time has come for me to act. I will not hold back; I will not have pity, nor will I relent. You will be judged according to your conduct and your actions, declares the Sovereign Lord.’”

Observation: Today my readings were from Ezekiel and Revelations, as they have been for several days now. And the stuff I’m reading about the Lord’s wrath is icky. SO much pain and destruction is described. It’s scary stuff! (If you want to check  it out for yourself, today’s reading specifically was Ezekiel 22-24 and Revelation 9.)

Application: I sure don’t want to be judged on my own. I am really thankful that God Lord sent Jesus Christ to be on my side and die for me. The alternative sure doesn’t sound pretty. I would be in BIG trouble without him.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for your son, Jesus Christ. Thank you for this new covenant and this gift you offer in Him. Thank you for the offer of an eternal life with you and thank you for washing away all of my sins. Without Jesus, I could not stand before you. With Him, I can and will.
