Journaling through the Bible in 90 days: Day 2

Howdy, fellow readers!

Today is Day 2 of Journaling through the Bible in 90 days and I hope you are feeling good about your reading streak. (If you are just popping in now, it’s not too late to join us!!)

Today’s Reading: Genesis 16: 1- 28:19

Our reading has, again, taken us through a LOT in just one day’s reading. You hanging in there?

Here’s what I heard today:

He listens to our input and sometimes takes it into consideration

Scripture: Genesis 18:23

Then Abraham approached him and said: “Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked?”

Observation:

Abraham had the courage to respectfully question God. And God listened and took Abraham’s request into account, enabling Lot and his family to flee.

Application:

God wants a relationship with us. He is all knowing and he welcomes our input. Situations and proclamations can change through prayer and conversation with God.

Prayer:

Thank you, Father, for loving each of us and creating us to have community with each other and with you. Thank you for this reminder that you respect our input and will take it into account. Show me the best way to apply this always.

What about you?

What did you hear in today’s reading? I’d love to hear all about it!

Thanks for joining me in this journey!

Love,

Amy

Day two, going well. I am reading the Old Testament for the second time. First reading was Living Bible, this time it is the NIV Life Application.
My biggest challenge is names/lineage- footnotes, going back, rereading- need some cliff notes/flow chart! And maps!
Slowly working my way into the journal, combining it with note taking.
    I appreciate your guidance.
    Blessings,
    Jill

    1. Jill, I am so excited for you as you read with us!
I love that you are mixing it up with a new Bible version this time.

I hope the weekly posts, where I share You are Here in the Bible, will help as you try to create that flow chart in your head. They give a bit of an overview of the coming week. I also list a genealogy of Christ in the SOAP journal. I find that helps me a lot. :)
